The one rushing around trying to get it all done, fretting about what’s left on the list and fearing that you won’t be able to get more than half of if done.
Stop right there, put the list down and step away from it. Take a deep breath. Now another deep breath and just relax for a minute.
I’ve got an important question for you: What have you done for yourself lately? To take care of you, to make your day, to show YOU how much you love you?
Not much, huh? I know, I know, you’re busy.
Well, let this be the PSA (public service announcement) reminder that the better you take care of you, the better you can take care of others and the more energy you’ll have to work on that long list.
Today, I challenge you to join me in declaring it international “Do Something Positive For Yourself Day” and spread the word.
It’s just one day, yet when you see how good it feels, how much more energy you have you’ll want to include something positive for yourself weekly, if not daily.
Here’s some simple ideas:
- Bubble bath
- Spend some quiet time reading
- Take a walk in a beautiful park
- Take a nap
- Watch a movie
- Call an old friend to catch up
- Get a manicure or pedicure, or both.
- Have a nice lunch or dinner with your spouse or partner (no kids)
Do a few of these a week or more and before you know it you’ll have more energy, a bigger smile and more to share with others.
