Hi! This is Michelle Spalding and today I’m going to talk to you about Time Management. Now I’m not going to tell you about new fancy widget, gadget or calendar that’s going to save you time. You and I both have more of those things than we probably know what to do with.
What want to talk to you about is having people on your team that are giving you the information that you need so that you can make the decision not chasing after it.
A few days ago I had a conversation with a coach and what she was saying to me was in my business I should be reviewing the data making decisions based on the data. I shouldn’t be entering the data into the system I shouldn’t be looking for the data. And that’s my goal for each and every person that we work with as well.
If you have a transaction coordinator on your team especially one from my office then you know our goal is to deliver information to our clients usually before they even ask for it or even think that they need that. But if you don’t, what I recommend that you do is that at the very beginning of the transaction let the Title Company know that there are certain milestones that you want updates on. Maybe prepare a form and ask them to fax you or email you those updates as they get those milestones, as they meet those milestones.
The same with the lender involved in the transaction. At the very beginning by giving them the form or the information that you’re looking for and letting them know that you expect those updates and don’t want to come chasing after them for that. You’ll have the data that you need. This is especially helpful if you’re working with the same company over and over and over again. That relationship will be solidified by the fact that you are continuously working with them and they’re giving you the information that you need in order to be more effective in the time that you have to devote to your business.
